Reevaluate the way you live your life
‘New year, new me’ – or so the well-meaning saying proclaims.
When the clock ticks over on the first day of a new year many of us feel compelled to reevaluate and overhaul our current situation. Inspired to make changes, grandiose in nature, we get caught in a fleeting moment of possibility.
Although, the stark reality is that for most of us the passion and energy required to make real sustainable change is so overwhelming that we merely look at the possibility, and then resume the life we always lived. We all know the drill. We fall back into habits, lean into comfort, and continue on. Why? Because we feel compelled to instill these massive changes.
Instead of trying to change yourself this year, embrace the current you. Embrace all that you are – even the faults.
If your current situation is causing discontent – reevaluate it.
Real change will transpire when it aligns with your values.
DO the things that you say mean something to you.
If that ends up being ‘eat less processed foods’, cook more using fresh ingredients. Or, if you want to ‘be present with the ones you love’, give them your attention by putting your phone away.
Small actions = big results.
You do not need the changing of a year to prompt some action, no matter how small.
Instead, reevaluate your life on a regular basis, and put into practice some small achievable actions so that you are living life congruent with the person you want to enhance.
